The Macula Vision Research Foundation (MVRF) and the Department of Ophthalmology at The Raymond and Ruth Perelman School of Medicine of The University of Pennsylvania (Scheie Eye Institute) have entered into a new agreement. As a result, we created The Karen and Herbert Lotman Fund of the Macula Vision Research Foundation of the University of Pennsylvania Scheie Eye Institute at the beginning of 2018.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

All charitable donations to MVRF will fund age-related macular degeneration (AMD) research projects led by the best and most promising scientists at the University of Pennsylvania – a world leader in eye research.

Our claim of 100% of every dollar donated goes to fund research has changed, however, our mission to find new treatments and a cure for AMD is even stronger.

MVRF and Scheie Eye Institute have forged this agreement with a strong and forward-thinking commitment to formulating an aggressive agenda focused on finding new pathways that will lead to new treatments to cure and save sight for millions of people and generations to come.

MVRF will remain a 501(c)(3) public charity as we transition this over the next several months. Please be assured that your generous charitable gifts will continue to be stewarded at the highest standard. Our promise to our donors remains and is our highest priority.

We are grateful for your continued support, loyalty and enthusiasm for a future we can all believe in – believing is seeing.
