MVRF is primarily a research granting organization. However, we place a high priority on staying connected to the people living with age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and their families and loved ones who are impacted by the daily struggle of impaired (or low) vision. Our SupportSightSM Program grew from this commitment. It is MVRF’s proprietary signature education and outreach program – conceived to link patients, caregivers and families affected by macular degeneration and other diseases of the retina with the most up-to-date information and knowledge. The program reaches thousands of people, from coast to coast, through three main areas of focus:

MVRF hosts FREE seminars in cities across the nation to provide information on the latest research findings and low vision techniques. The seminars are led by locally-based retina specialists, low vision experts and researchers.

The Macula Vision Research Foundation’s FREE newsletter, SupportSightNEWSSM includes important updates on MVRF-funded research, new developments in retinal disease and practical information for patients, families and caregivers.

SupportSightSM Resources includes our toll free number, outreach, retirement community partnerships, AMD support group referrals, online and digital resources, referrals and access to disease-specific information and clinical trials.

Our SupportSightSM Program is completely underwritten thanks to our generous sponsors:
